Our Counseling and Guidance program follows the fundamental mission of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. That every person is uniquely created by a loving God who sent Jesus Christ to show how much that same God loves each person. Therefore, through guidance lessons, our children will learned that each person is lovable and each one of us is growing in Gods image and love.
As the counselor for St. Gregory the Great, I committed to nurturing and helping children realize their full potential as children of God. Assisting them grow in their relationships with God, others and self. Through the Guidance lessons, we are able to provide a systematic curriculum that focuses on Character Formation through building self-esteem, helping children manage their feelings, developing a positive self-concept and placing value on their relationship with God. Through the counseling office children are also motivated to achieve new goals, learn decision-making and problem-solving skills, learn to build healthy friendships, develop respect for others and self, and build communication skills and responsible behaviors. Short term individual counseling and responsive services are also provided to children in need.
