Robotics Club
The robotics team of St. Gregory the Great was established back in 2010 to allow students the opportunity to apply their STEM skills to design, build, program, research, market and drive a robotic device that can undergo various obstacles in a robotic competition that is held every October in San Antonio. As part of the SA Best robotic competition, our school team which is comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, participates in the SA Best challenge and are able to have our school robot undergo the challenges that the Best competition requires. We have six weeks to build the robot from scratch. As a result of our years in SA Best, we have placed 7th (out of 35 teams) and for the 2015 competition, won best in our engineering notebook. Many of our graduating 8th graders that have been a members of our St. Gregory the Great team have gone on to be members of their high school robotics group. Some of our students are now in college pursing engineering and computer science degrees as well as degrees in all fields of science.
