Clubs and Encore Classes
Our mission here at St. Gregory the Great is to develop our children spiritually, physically, and academically.
To support this growth in our children, we offer a variety of Clubs and Encore classes. If you are interested in having your child participate in one of the Club/ Encore classes, please submit a registration form. Have fun!
NJHS (National Junior Honor Society)
The Mother Mary Magdalen Lyne Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society serves the community of St. Gregory the Great school and parish as well as the St. Agnes parish through its community service projects, such as peer tutoring, monthly food drives and Christmas toy collection. Members from 7th and 8th represent students who exemplify the five core values of NJHS; service, character, citizenship, leadership and scholarship.
Students are recommended for membership by their teachers and upon receiving the necessary recommendations they as ask to complete an information package. This package allows them to highlight their achievements and express in their own words why membership into the Society is important to them. Candidates are reviewed by a faculty review panel and only those students who exemplify the core values are allowed membership.
Once membership is granted students must maintain a 90 average and an S or better in conduct. It is the expectation of all our members that they display our core values in the classroom, extra-curricular activities and throughout their day. They are leaders in our school.
Membership drives occur twice a year, once in the fall for 7th and 8th grade students then again in the spring for 6th and 7th graders.

Student Council
The Student Council is an organization whose members are elected by 4th through 8th grade homerooms. Officers are elected in May for the following school year. Officers must be in the Upper Unit. The purpose of the Student Council is to represent the students of St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, promote the welfare of the student body, promote better student-teacher relationships, foster citizenship training, develop interest in civic affairs through school spirit, and encourage better discipline. The Student Council raises and lowers the United States and Texas flags daily. We assist with liturgies and prayer services and work with the NJHS on various service projects. Other projects include Pep Rallies, Red Ribbon Week, Career Day, a dance and any other events that give us the opportunity to enhance the St. Gregory experience for the school community.
